The Design:
There have been several Asgard ships depicted in Stargate-SG1 so far, all of them have followed a hammer-like design, and they've also been quite large. Thor's vessel, the Beliskner and the O'neill class are the largest. But there haven't been any smaller craft shown in any detail. I decided to make a model of such a ship, one that would be practical for shorter journeys, perhaps flying from one part of a planet to another.
I gave it a general hammer shape so it would be recognisably Asgard, with the main crew areas towards the front, and the engines mounted at the back with wings. The cockpit would have a window, unlike the larger ships, which view the space outside with cameras and sensors. There's also a door on either side of the cockpit section.
The Model:
I started off with the cockpit section since it would set the scale for the rest of the craft. I made a small throne-like seat similar to the ones in the series, and a little Asgard guy. He isn't too detailed aside from the textures because you can't see him that clearly from a distance.
Next I made the body and wings, continuing to use the box modelling technique, as with my other models. Once I made the general shape I added a few surface details such as hull panels.
With the modelling complete I added textures and completed the airlock and cockpit.
And the final model..
